Last updated: October 2026. This page explains what we collect on tobobook.com and why. "We" means Tobo, the team building MagicBook. Contact: hello@tobobook.com.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you reserve MagicBook.
- Your optional answers on the thank-you page (the characters they love, your child's age range, when they'd use it). We ask parents, never children.
- Payment is handled by PayPal. We see your name, email and that you paid $1. We never see your card details.
- Ad measurement: we use the Meta Pixel to see which ads bring people to this page and how many reserve. In the UK this only runs if you accept cookies.
- Which ad or link brought you here (for example utm_source), stored with your reservation.
How we use it
- To email you about your reservation, the Kickstarter launch and product progress.
- To refund your $1 if you ask.
- To decide which Tales and features to build.
We don't sell your data. You can unsubscribe from any email, and you can ask us to delete your data at any time by writing to hello@tobobook.com.
Where it's stored
Reservation data is stored in Google Workspace (Google Sheets). Payments are processed by PayPal. Ad measurement is provided by Meta Platforms.
Your rights
If you're in the UK, you have rights under UK GDPR to access, correct or delete your data, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). If you're in California, you can ask what we hold and ask us to delete it.
Cookies
UK visitors see a choice when they first arrive. You can change it from "Cookie settings" at the bottom of the page.
